It’s our 19th anniversary! Take a walk down memory lane with us!

Forensic/Strategic Solutions has been around for 19 years, but founder and shareholder, Ralph Summerford says it feels like it was just yesterday that he started his business working from home by himself. The firm has come a long way since then, and as our official anniversary month of November kicks off, we wanted to share a timeline of notable events, dates and milestones.

September 1992 – Summerford started home based forensic accounting business with little more than himself as an employee, a phone and a fax machine.

November 1992 – Summerford signed lease on an office in AmSouth/Harbert Plaza in downtown Birmingham.

1993 – Two employees came on board and the business started growing from there.

1997 – After five years in 1,500-square-feet at AmSouth Harbert Plaza, the firm moved to 3,500-square-foot office at the Age Herald building on 5th Avenue North and started adding additional employees. Summerford also joined the faculty as an instructor for the Association of Certified Fraud Examiners. That position continues today which leads him to teach courses all over the world.

1999 – Employed by Los Angeles Unified School District to investigate an environmental disaster at a new high school (Belmont Learning Center), which garnered national positive press and recognition leading to much more work all over the country. Kelly Todd (current shareholder), joined the team.

September 2001 – Forensic merged with Dixon, Hughes, Goodman LLP

July 2003 – Forensic/Strategic Solutions left Dixon Hughes and moved to Park Place Tower, which is its current home.
