Malcom of Forensic Strategic Solutions Passes Exam for Certified Fraud Examiner Qualification


Birmingham, AL – September 14, 2010Sarah Malcom, a forensic accountant with Forensic Strategic Solutions, recently passed the exam for the Certified Fraud Examiner (CFE) qualification, which is given by the Association of Certified Fraud Examiners (ACFE).  The CFE exam is a requirement for all CFE credential candidates.  

The CFE credential denotes proven expertise in fraud prevention, detection, and deterrence. Members with the CFE credential experience professional growth and quickly position themselves as leaders in the global anti-fraud community.

About Sarah Malcom
Sarah Malcom joined Forensic Strategic Solutions, Inc., in 2009 upon receiving her Master of Business Administration at the University of Alabama at Birmingham (UAB), where she previously obtained her Bachelor of Science in accounting and criminal justice.  Ms. Malcom also completed an academic concentration in forensic accounting and IT auditing at UAB, during which she conducted thesis research to determine the extent of occupational fraud in the state of Alabama.  Her manuscript was published in part by Fraud Magazine, a publication of the Association of Certified Fraud Examiners.

Ms. Malcom’s experience includes audits of publicly-traded companies in several industries, including insurance, public and private education, and healthcare.  She also has experience in governmental accounting as well as not-for-profit accounting.  While completing her degrees at UAB, Ms. Malcom assisted Forensic/Strategic Solutions as an intern and gained exposure to data mining, data analysis, and fraud examination.
