Kelly Todd Discusses Detecting Deception in the Workplace with the Birmingham Business Journal

Kelly J. Todd, managing member and member in charge of forensic investigations, authored an article for the Birmingham Business Journal on detecting deception in the workplace. In the article, Kelly discusses the common myths of deception, including that liars have shifty eyes, overwhelm with details and use absolute statements. Kelly also explains ways in which people can enhance their lie-detecting skills, such as priming the subject of an investigation for the truth and learning to spot verbal and non-verbal cues that are indicators of deception.

Through the integration of our practice areas and expertise, FSS uses data analytics, interviews and evidence examination to uncover financial crimes, identify perpetrators, develop evidence and/or make referrals to law enforcement agencies. Learn more from Kelly about detecting deception in our video center.
