Kelly J. Todd, managing member and member in charge of forensic investigations, authored an article for the Birmingham Business Journal on detecting deception in the workplace. In the article, Kelly discusses the common myths of deception, including that liars have shifty eyes, overwhelm with details and use absolute statements. Kelly also explains ways in which people can enhance their lie-detecting skills, such as priming the subject of an investigation for the truth and learning to spot verbal and non-verbal cues that are indicators of deception.
